Ukrainian invasion by Russia causes turmoil in worldwide energy markets
Issued: 09 March 2022
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has sent oil prices to a 14 year high.
As Russian forces continue their offensive action against Ukraine, this is causing unprecedented turmoil in energy markets. The impact of Russia’s actions, together with the growing level of sanctions being levied against them has already caused a significant increase in the price of heating oil. Furthermore, due to the current volatility in the market we expect price rises to continue.
Availability update:
Rix Petroleum operates via a nationwide network of fuel depots, delivering heating oil to our many thousands of customers using our large fleet of tankers. We continue to receive heating oil supplies daily by the UK’s major refineries. Customers throughout the length and breadth of the UK are continuing to receive their deliveries every day.
Unfortunately, due to the high levels of demand that we are currently experiencing across our depots we do expect to see impacts in our normal day-to day operations. And as a result, we have decided to extend our delivery window. Rest assured that we are working with our suppliers to ensure that any disruptions are kept to a minimum. Please contact your local depot for an update on the delivery timescales in your area.
