We’re incredibly proud to announce that Ian Walters has been named Driver of the Year at the UKIFDA Expo & Conference 2026.
This is a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved recognition of Ian’s dedication, professionalism, and the impact he has across our business.
The judges were particularly impressed not only by Ian’s outstanding performance as a tanker driver, but by the influence he has beyond his own role. Through mentoring, training, and leading by example, Ian plays a key part in shaping how others work, think, and operate safely every day.
Ian’s nomination highlighted just how exceptional he is. Known for his professionalism, reliability, and unwavering commitment to safety, he consistently sets the standard for others to follow. His background in military logistics, combined with his role as a driver trainer, allows him to bring a level of discipline, knowledge, and leadership that benefits colleagues across the business.
But what truly sets Ian apart is the way he supports those around him. Whether it’s mentoring fellow drivers, working closely with Health & Safety teams, or stepping in to support customers and colleagues whenever needed, Ian goes above and beyond every single day. His influence reaches far beyond his own vehicle - extending across depots, teams, and the wider organisation.
When told the news, Ian responded with his usual humility:
“Wow! I’m actually blown away by this! Amazing what others think about you!”
This recognition is a reflection not only of Ian’s hard work, but also of the respect he has earned from colleagues, managers, and customers alike.
