Superheat35 is a great value alternative heating oil, used in place of ultra-low sulphur gas oil (ULSGO). It is specially designed for oil-fuelled agricultural drying equipment and other heating applications for farming, such as:
- Roadside coating plants
The British Standard for Industrial Fuel Oils, BS2869:2010, includes two grades of gas oil:
- Class A2 or 10ppm sulphur gas oil – legally required for off-road, mobile plant, and Class D
- 1000ppm sulphur gas oil – exclusively for use in stationary diesel generators and heating applications
The standard form of gas oil at most refineries is 10ppm sulphur or ULSGO, which can be used for off-road, mobile plant, and stationary plant purposes. The disadvantage of ULSGO is that it often contains an element of bio-diesel that attracts water. This makes the product more susceptible to degradation in storage and plant, leading to a failure caused by water build-up or blocked filters.
The Benefits of Superheat35
Superheat35, on the other hand, is a less abrasive kerosene alternative and has a longer shelf life than bioproducts, due to its zero bio content and lower risk of spoiling. It also has the same calorific value, density and viscosity as gas oil, maintaining high quality and performance.
The savings of 8-10% over conventional ULSGO and can save farms up to £2,500 per year (based on annual usage of 50,000 litres at a 5p per litre saving), making it an ideal alternative heating oil for applications such as boilers, heaters and agricultural drying machinery. For extra convenience, Superheat35 can be added to your existing fuel tank with no need to empty it beforehand.
Who Can Use Superheat35?
Please note that Superheat35 must not be used as a road fuel or as a fuel for any other engine, motor or machinery. Superheat35 meets BS2869:2010 Class D heating applications.
