We are delighted to announce that J R Rix & Sons have become an official Business Club Partner for Hull 2017 UK City of Culture.
We have been trading in the Humber region for more than 140 years so we are extremely excited to see the world-class arts, heritage and cultural events that will run throughout the whole of next year, and the legacy that will extend for years to come.
Tim Rix, managing director of JR Rix & Sons, described UK City of Culture 2017 as a platform for Hull to showcase itself on the global stage.
He said: “As a family and as a business, we have a long connection with Hull and one that we are immensely proud of. We have seen the city through good times and bad, but we have never stopped investing and striving to be part of the community.
“Hull is currently undergoing a renaissance like no other in its history. We have achieved things in the past four years that few would have believed possible, such as the Siemens’ blade factory, RB’s Centre for Scientific Excellence and the Energy Works waste-to-energy plant. These projects and others are bringing unprecedented economic activity to Hull and the wider region, along with jobs and prosperity.
“UK City of Culture status, along with the capital expenditure taking place in the public realm improvement works, will transform the look of the city and its national and global standing. It is something that JR Rix & Sons, with its passion for the city and wider region, simply had to be a part of.”
Martin Green, CEO and director of Hull 2017, said: “A very warm welcome to all at JR Rix & Sons, the latest organisation to join the Hull 2017 Business Club network.
“This prestigious club is a first-class opportunity for companies to play an important part in the UK City of Culture story. Through their support, members also benefit from their association with Hull 2017, opening up networking and other opportunities, including with our larger partners.
"Collectively, the Business Club is already making a significant contribution to the year, which will only increase as more companies come on board in the near future and I urge more to sign up.”
We will keep you updated with all the goings on around Hull 2017.
