See Rix Petroleum at this years Driffield Show
Rix Petroleum returns to Driffield Show for the 67th time this year celebrating milestones old and new. This years show takes place next week on the 16th July.
The company’s home heating business, Rix Heating Services, turned 50 in 2014 and to mark the “Golden anniversary” the firm has invested in a new, gold van which it will display at the show.
Rix Petroleum is also celebrating its recent partnership with Driffield Agricultural Society – the organisers of the event – which is in the planning process for the Rix Pavilion, a 300 seat events, conferencing and dining facility on the town’s historic showground.
The £281,000 development will replace the existing shed used for the farmers’ market and is currently awaiting planning consent from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Duncan Lambert, director of Rix Heating Services, said as part of the celebrations visitors to the show will be able to join a hunt for Rix’s Golden Gnomes which will be hidden around other exhibitor’s stands on the day.
There are 25 gnomes in total and each one will carry a prize ranging from a free boiler service to 500 litres of home heating oil delivered to the lucky winner’s door.
Mr Lambert said: “This year is a double celebration for Rix so we are looking forward to a really fantastic show. We will be displaying some of the original promotional material for Rix Heating Services and some fantastic old photographs of fuel tankers from days gone past.
“We will be joined by members of Bridlington Young Farmers, with whom we have forged a close working partnership, and of course there will be opportunities for visitors to win some cracking prizes by finding one of our Rix Golden Gnomes.”
Rix Heating Services employs 13 engineers who work across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire installing and servicing home heating systems.
The company purchased the golden van specifically to celebrate the business’s 50th year and it will be driven by its longest serving engineer, Rob Young.
It will also be giving free boiler services to 50 of its oldest customers during 2014.
Rix Petroleum became the headline sponsor of the Rix Pavilion early this year after agreeing a sponsorship deal with Driffield Agricultural Society.
The deal will also see the company’s branding appear on signs around the showground to promote events.
Mr Lambert said: “We have been serving farmers in East Yorkshire for more than 80 years and have developed a close working relationship with Driffield Agricultural Society.
“Therefore partnering with them to sponsor the new building is a real source of pride for us and we are delighted they have chosen to call it the Rix Pavilion.”
