It’s been great to read about all the goings on around the first Young Farmer Week celebrations, run by the National Federation of Young Farmers Club (NFYFC). Here at Rix we have a longstanding partnership with several UK clubs, and it’s wonderful to see them get the recognition they deserve.
This initiative was started as part of a recruitment and retention campaign and saw activities and events throughout the young farmer’s community including Bonfires, County balls and even television appearances. The campaigns on social media has raised the awareness of, not only the different clubs but also that members don’t need to come from a farming background to get involved and to benefit from being part of the team and their strong support networks.
In September this year, the National Federation of Young Farmers announced that Radio 1 DJ’s Scott Mills and Chris Stark will be their new ambassadors. This relationship came about after the duo regularly preformed sets for the organisation’s annual conventions, and they commented that a lot of their listenership is made up of young farmers due to the times the shows are aired.
