There is so much to do at Lincoln Castle, which has recently benefitted from a major £22m restoration project . You can visit the castle towers and dungeons in a guided tour, walk the ¾ mile long perimeter wall, see an original magna carta document and widescreen cinema, visit the Victorian prison and see the archaeological remains and skeletons from an ancient church beneath the castle. There are always lots of other events happening too, and they even run short courses in crafts and conservation from their Heritage Skills Centre.
As if that wasn’t enough you can even buy a ticket that includes access to the Cathedral as well, which is just opposite the castle. Ticket prices are varied as you can buy tickets for the separate attractions starting at £5 per adult, or buy an all-inclusive ticket for up to £16 per adult (prices correct at time of writing August 2015).
If you’re not from the area, we highly recommend a visit and overnight stay to this beautiful historic city and all its attractions. Nearby are many accommodation options including Guest houses, B&Bs, Boutique hotels, popular hotel chains, self-catering apartments, and even caravan and camping sites.
