If so, you may find some useful answers to some of the most common questions we get asked below.
With more than 80 years experience supplying Heating Oil, Rix can offer expert knowledge and advice about heating oil and your heating system.
Which heating oil do I need?
Some domestic boilers use gas oil. However the vast majority of oil-fired boilers and cookers are fuelled by kerosene, which is also known as home heating oil, heating oil and burning oil. If you are unsure which type of oil your heating system or range uses, your local depot will be happy to help.
Where’s my nearest Rix depot?
To find your heating oil nearest depot, please enter your postcode in the box at the bottom of this page. We will then provide you with the relevant contact details.
Do I need to know anything before ordering?
It would be helpful if you know the capacity of your heating oil tank. You can work this out by taking the measurements of a metal tank or by locating the model number on a plastic tank. Otherwise, simply call us and one of our helpful depot staff will be happy to work out the details for you.
You should make sure that a qualified engineer has recently serviced your boiler and tank. If any maintenance is required, we can arrange for one of our engineers to visit before ordering your oil.
Make your first order the last one you need to remember by using our Oil Alert Service. Let Rix take the hassle out of managing your heating oil with the automatic tank monitoring system from Rix.
Does the quantity of Heating Oil I order influence the price?
Larger quantities are cheaper to purchase per litre. Ordering 500 litres of heating oil at a time puts the cost up for you and for us. Rix can offer you the option to order a larger quantity and, if you are on our flexible, monthly payment scheme, you can spread the cost of the fuel you will use over the year.
How can do I pay you for my oil delivery?
We offer a range of payment methods to suit you:
When you are an established customer you can simply open up a monthly payment scheme and pay by direct debit. Alternatively you can pay online by Switch, Visa or Mastercard or over the phone by Switch, Visa or Mastercard.
