Gedney resident Bridget Hughes will be celebrating a cosy winter thanks to Rix Petroleum's Spalding depot. The lucky winner received 500 litres of heating oil worth around £200 in a competition run through the newspaper.

In 2 weeks, our Agricultural team will be heading to beautiful North Yorkshire to exhibit at YAMS (Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show).

At Rix Petroleum, we are proud to support local teams, charities and organisations.

As a family company with a century-long connection to East Yorkshire we have always been champions of our local community, whether that’s creating local employment, supporting local sports teams and charities, or simply ensuring our customers get their heating oil and boiler’s serviced in good time for the cold weather.

On Sunday our team of staff from the Rix Petroleum Mercia ran the Chester Marathon.

All visitors to the Rix Petroleum stand will have a chance of winning 500 litres of heating oil if they can guess how many litres of domestic heating oil we delivered in 2014. The answer closest to the correct answer will win.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit the Rix Petroleum stand at what was a very hot Royal Norfolk show.

OK, we know what it’s like. You’re sat there, in the garden you work so hard to maintain, sipping cool drinks in the warm summer sun (that’s only just arrived), so the last thing you want to think about is your heating oil tank and getting ready for next winter. But at the risk of dragging you down, there are one or two tips we thought we ought to share so when the cold weather eventually returns, you’ll be snug as a bug in a rug!

We are delighted to have won the 'Transport and Logistics' category in the awards run by Family Business United – an organisation that supports family-owned firms in the UK.
