Complete our online application or sign up through your local Rix depot. We'll arrange your £9.99 monthly Direct Debit and get you set up.
Monitor installation
Your local Rix team will arrange to fit the monitor to your tank and get it connected, so your fuel levels can be viewed remotely.
We keep an eye on your tank
Your monitor sends regular fuel level readings, which you can view through the app or online. Your local Rix depot can see them too.
We call when you're running low
When your fuel level gets low, we'll contact you to see if you'd like a delivery. You decide whether to order.

What is a tank monitor?
A tank monitor is a wireless device fitted to your oil tank that measures how much fuel you have remaining. It sends regular readings to an app or online account, so you can check your heating oil level without having to visit your tank.
With Rix Tank Watch, your local Rix depot can also monitor your fuel level and contact you when you're running low.
How does tank monitoring work?
Once your monitor is installed and connected, it sends regular fuel level readings over the mobile network, typically every six hours.
You can view your tank level through the app or online, while your local Rix depot keeps an eye on it too. When your fuel is getting low, we'll contact you to see if you'd like to arrange a delivery.
Do I need Wi-Fi?
No. The standard Rix Tank Watch monitor uses the mobile network, so you don't need a home Wi-Fi connection.
A suitable mobile signal is required. If coverage is limited, we can discuss alternative connectivity options.
Can I monitor more than one tank?
Yes. Tank monitoring solutions are available for customers with multiple tanks, making them ideal for farms and businesses.
Can I view my fuel level on my phone?
Yes. You can check your heating oil tank level at any time through the app or online portal, using your phone, tablet or computer.
Your tank monitor takes a reading periodically, so you'll always be able to see the most recently recorded level.
Can Rix arrange deliveries automatically?
No. With Rix Tank Watch, your local Rix depot monitors your fuel level and contacts you when you're running low.
We'll discuss your requirements and provide a price if you'd like to order. You decide whether to go ahead, and we won't arrange a delivery without your approval.
Will it fit my tank?
Rix Tank Watch is suitable for many oil tanks, including plastic and metal tanks.
Compatibility depends on your tank and its fittings. Your local Rix depot will confirm suitability before installation.
Can it help detect leaks?
Rix Tank Watch provides regular fuel level readings, which may help you notice unexpected changes in your oil level.
However, it is not a dedicated leak detection or security system and should not be relied upon to identify leaks or theft.
Is there a contract?
Yes, Rix Tank Watch has a minimum contract term of six months, with payments collected monthly by Direct Debit. After the initial six months, the service continues on a rolling monthly basis. Please see our full Terms & Conditions for further details.
