Throughout the Summer of 2013, Rix Petroleum ran a “Community” competition for each region we operate in.
The competition encouraged local causes to upload a picture that encapsulated their cause, charity, or not for profit organisation along with a short description of why they though they should win. The prize for each winning entry was £500 towards good or services on their choice.
Then using the power of social media they could share their entry with friends, family and their community to get as many votes as possible. In total we received more than 36 entries from local towns and villages and gave away prizes totalling £3,000.
The winners were:
Marton Village Cricket Club - Midlands (Prize the club chose was a Cricket Scoreboard)
Seniors' Gym Club - Mercia (Prize the club chose was a social teambuilding trip for it's members to Wales)
SPEADA - Young Carers - Lincolnshire ( Prize the Charity chose was £500 worth of sports equipment for it's members)
1st Forest Hall Guides - North East (Prize the Guides club chose was a brand new cooker and microwave for the club hut)
Horsford Junior School (Birdwatching Club) – East Anglia (Prize the School chose was bird books and binoculars for the bird club)
The Daisy Appeal - Yorkshire (Prize the charity chose was a new TV for their forthcoming reception at the Castle Hill Hospital)
A Big thank you to everyone who entered the Rix Competition and congratulations to the winners!
