1. Who can enter the competition?

Anyone living in mainland UK can enter the competition, but their chosen cause, charity or not for profit organisation must be located within a Rix Petroleum depot delivery area. Most delivery areas are between 30 and 60 miles but you can check by inserting your postcode on our entry page.

2. After I’ve entered can I make changes to my page?

Unfortunately not. As soon as you have entered the competition, the page cannot be edited or changed in anyway.

3. How do I get people to vote for my entry?

Once we have approved your entry you will receive an email with your unique URL that you can share with friends and family so they vote for your entry by clicking the ‘like’ button on your page. (a URL is a link of where your page is on the rix.co.uk website).

4. What if I don’t have a Facebook account?

You don’t need to have a facebook account to enter. You only need a facebook account to vote for entries within the competition. To join facebook it’s really easy and free of charge. It’s also a great way to connect with friends and family. Have a look at facebook.com

5. Any ideas about how I can get more votes?

It’s really important that you spread this URL as far and wide as possible because the most votes wins. You want to post it onto your facebook page, email it to friends and also post on twitter. By doing this people will hopefully retweet your URL and post on their own social network sites.

6. What types of organisations can I donate my prize to?

Your chosen organisation must be a charity or a not for profit organisation with a strong community focus. We don’t want to give a definitive list as this might restrict your creative thinking! You can visit the ‘Tips’ section of our website for some inspirational ideas.

Most social enterprises are fine but commercial organisations and organisations with strong political views are not allowed. Each entry will be accepted on its own merits in our approval process but have a read of the competition’s terms and conditions for more advice.

7. How many times can I enter?

Only one entry per email address is allowed. You might want to do this if you want to support a number of causes but then you run the risk of having lots of votes spread across multiple entries rather than lots of votes on one entry.

8. How is the winner chosen?

The winner is the entry with the most facebook ‘likes’ at the close of the competition. You can very easily monitor this by checking the number of ‘likes’ on the facebook button on your page.

9. If I want to leave the competition, can I cancel my entry?

It would be a real shame if this was to happen because the competition is all about caring in the community but yes you can. You will have to send an email to sales@rix.co.uk from the email address we have on file with a reason on why you want to do this.

10. Can I enter a photo that I didn’t take myself?

All images submitted as part of the competition must be either taken by your or you have sought the permission of the person who took or owns the copyright of the image. It’s really important that you have done this as your entry might be disqualified at a later date if copyright haven’t been arranged.

11. When does the competition close?

The competition closes on July 22nd 2013.
