Supporting Communities Is Part Of What We Do

There are some brands that are inextricably linked with the British countryside. Think Barbour jackets, Hunter wellies, Cordings if you’ve got a bit of cash to splash. But when it comes to motoring just one marque springs to mind.

That, you will probably have guessed, is Land Rover. OK, there are other manufacturers that make fantastic SUVs and 4x4s, but no other the vehicle has moved more British farmers and country folk down generations.

And now the company is doing its bit to put back into the communities that have relied on its vehicles for decades. Land Rover has agreed a three year partnership with the Prince’s Countryside Fund, offering the use of a Freelander 2 to five individuals or groups who can demonstrate it would enable them to support their rural community more effectively.

In a time when country people are suffering disproportionally from treacherous weather, a lack of employment opportunities and poor broadband provision, helping those who are prepared to invest in the community is a noble act.

As a company that has served farmers and rural communities for more than 100 years we know what it is to offer support. It is part of the DNA of Rix Petroleum, whether that’s supplying emergency fuel over the Christmas holidays or running our oil syndicate rebate scheme and investing profits back into local causes, or giving individual customers the chance to win free heating oil.

Like Land Rover we believe our pact with our customers is two way and works best as a partnership. It is through this belief that both companies have flourished and will continue to flourish well into the future.

So well done Land Rover for giving something back to the people who have supported you over the years. It is acts like this that make us more than a company. It is acts like this that make us human.
