Shropshire resident wins heating oil with Rix Mercia

ATCHAM resident Mrs Richards is celebrating a great start to the summer thanks to Rix Petroleum (Mercia) Ltd and The Shropshire Star.

Mrs Richards, was the lucky winner of 500 litres of heating oil worth around £350 from the Market Drayton-based company in a competition run through the newspaper.

Rix tanker driver Roger Leath ensured the fuel was delivered straight to Julie’s door and Rory Beath, manager of Rix Petroleum’s Shropshire business, was on hand to congratulate the winner.

Rory said: “With last winter’s bad weather extending all the way into the new year we decided to bring some cheer to the season by giving people the opportunity to win 500 litres of heating oil, delivered free to their door. After all, it’s a good feeling to know you are fully prepared for all the British weather can throw at you.

“It was a great pleasure to inform Mrs Richards that she was the lucky and deserving winner, I hope it helps her and her family stay cosy until the warmer weather is upon us.”

Mrs Richards said she used heating oil because there was no mains gas supply to Atcham. She added she was delighted to have won.

She said: “I often enter these types of competitions but rarely win anything so was not expecting much to come of it. When I got the letter saying I had won it came as a huge surprise.
