Rix Petroleum staff choose Macmillan as our national charity of the year

One in three people will develop cancer in their lifetime. It’s a shocking statistic. One in three people. It doesn’t bear thinking about, does it?

Of course there are things we can all do to help prevent it. We can change to healthier lifestyles, we can drink less and eat better, exercise more and never smoke. But most of us will fall foul of at least one of these things because being good isn’t always easy.

Here at Rix Petroleum we wanted to do something that would help raise money in the fight against cancer. That’s why Rix Petroleum has chosen Macmillan as our national Charity of the Year. Staff across the business voted for their charity of choice and Macmillan came out with the most votes.

Throughout 2014 our staff, from all the regions we operate in will help raise vitally needed funds for Macmillan, who provide free care to people with cancer. Macmillan provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Last year, the charity supported 5.7 million people affected by cancer in the UK and identified a total of £245 million in benefits and grants for cancer patients. At Rix, we hope we can raise money throughout the year to help support this amazing charity.

It is our privilege to support the amazing work of the MacMillan nurses.
