Rix Petroleum scoops award at first trade show of the year

The annual show season got off to a flying start for family fuel supplier Rix Petroleum as it scooped an award at the Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (YAMS).

The East Yorkshire company, which has served farmers in east and north Yorkshire for nearly 100 years, was highly commended in the Best Outdoor Stand category at the show, which took place at York Auction Centre earlier this month.

Duncan Lambert, managing director of Rix Petroleum, said he was surprised to receive the recognition as there had been so many worthy and creative stands at the event.

Mr Lambert said: “We always like to support the region’s agricultural shows and events because over the years, Yorkshire’s farming community has supported us.

“As a result, whenever we exhibit at such events, we put a lot into our exhibition stands.

“However, with YAMS being early in the year, many companies really go to town and this year was no different. There were a lot of fantastic stands, so to be high commended in the outdoor category was a great result.”

YAMS is one of the region’s premier agricultural machine events which attracts hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors.

The trade stand awards were sponsored by AgriMachinery Trade News.

Editor and publisher, Andy Newbold, said: “As ever, the quality of trade stands was excellent, with a number of strong contenders. Choosing the winners and the highly commended in each category was very difficult and all the winners should be very proud of their efforts.

“YAMS continues to go from strength to strength with strong support from the agricultural machinery trade across the whole region, and we are really pleased to encourage and acknowledge the hard work which the trade puts into this show.”
