Rix Petroleum enjoyed lunch in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

The teams at Rix Petroleum’s HQ have joined together to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support by buying or baking some delicious treats for our charity lunch event.

We were kindly supported by our local Sainsbury’s store (Jameson Street, Hull) who donated a selection of sandwiches that were enjoyed by all.

The staff really got behind this fundraising lunch and made an array of dishes including, spring rolls, goats cheese tarts, sausage rolls, salads, flatbreads and some amazing desserts.

Macmillan’s ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.

There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and as more people live longer with their cancer, this number is set to grow to 4 million by 2030. Macmillan wants to make sure they can provide support to everyone who needs it, to help people affected by cancer feel more in control of their lives.

Each year the J R Rix & Sons group of companies choose a national charity to support and raise money for and are very proud to be working with Macmillan during 2016. We have lots more exciting events lined up for the coming months, so watch this space.
