Rix Petroleum Mercia surprise delivery to Milwich heating oil syndicate

We were delighted to deliver something a little extra to our Milwich heating oil syndicate this month in the form of a donation to the village’s community groups.

The Milwich Fuel Buying Community is one of many syndicates run with Rix Petroleum, whereby residents in the same area who use heating oil can buy their fuel together. Syndicates can offer a win-win situation both for us and our rural customers. For you, it means if you usually order small quantities of heating oil, then you benefit from a bulk purchase price as orders are grouped together. Another benefit is an environmental one, as we make all the deliveries in fewer trips it cuts down on traffic in and out of your village. For us, it means more efficient delivery planning, as we only have to visit once, which helps us save transport costs and makes our company overall a little greener.

But those benefits were not enough for us. We wanted to celebrate the loyalty of our syndicate members even more; that’s why we decided to share the savings we make on transport back into the community. Director of Rix Petroleum (Mercia) Ltd Rory Beath was glad to present the cheque for £333.66 to Milwich, who have collectively bought 250,000 litres of heating fuel from our Market Drayton depot. We asked syndicate organiser and local resident Mike Baggaley to nominate groups for the donation: £133.66 has gone to Green Lea Community School for their gardening club; £100 for the Milwich Music Festival which is currently helping to fund a children’s play area; and £100 has gone to the Milwich Produce Guild towards the hire of the marquee during its September event.

Mr Baggaley said: “Receiving the rebate was completely unexpected. The Milwich Fuel Buying Community has not been working towards it, I organised the syndicate for the better price for us all. We are all absolutely delighted that the community has benefitted from this. We have been working with Rix Petroleum since day one and their service has been second to none. If a customer runs out of fuel, Rix has always sent out a special delivery. They have always been supportive locally, providing generous raffle prizes when asked and being a part of our community at village events.”
