AdBlue is a solution of Urea in demineralised water (32.5%) it is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems as an exhaust after treatment to reduce pollutants on the latest generations of diesel powered Trucks and Agricultural machinery.
AdBlue is stored in a separate tank on the vehicle and is precisely metered and injected into the exhaust system, converting the gases to harmless water vapour. The approximate usage is between 3 – 6% of diesel consumption.
AdBlue, is a trademark held by the German Association of the Automobile Industry (VDA) and is manufactured to ISO 22241 industry standards.
